Uttarakhand BJP attacks state govt, praises Centre’s initiative

Senior BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in Uttarakhand assembly Ajay Bhatt on Tuesday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the Central government’s development initiatives.

“The Modi government at centre has done remarkable work for everyone's development since it came to power. It sounds strange that Congress is asking for the progress report card of central government's six months rule, instead they should first declare their achievements of past sixty years in power. The acceptance of Modi’s work among common man is the cause of frustration among state Congress leaders. Their senseless statements are the outburst of their feeling,”  Bhatt said while addressing a joint press conference with state BJP chief Tirath Singh Rawat.

Praising central government, he said, “In the international diplomatic arena, the position of our country has been strengthened. India has been recognised as a strong country globally. The government is working to develop 100 smart cities and Dehradun is also one of them. The prices of petrol and diesel have come down too. ”

Talking about state politics, Bhatt further said it is unfortunate that state cabinet decisions are now being declared by media-in-charge, while chief secretary or other senior secretaries are best suited for the job.

Speaking to the media, Rawat said, “The Congress has no concrete issues to raise. It is unfortunate that Congress is criticising the good work done by BJP government. Congress has been frustrated due to recurring failures. Now, they are attacking the central government to shift the public attention from its failures. The PM’s foreign tours to Nepal, Bhutan, Japan, America and recently Australia have proved his leadership qualities. The government is focused on controllling inflation, black marketing and rising prices of essential commodities. Creating job opportunities for youths has always been the agenda of BJP.”
