US audience warm up to Kher’s play

The US tour of the play Mera Woh Matlab Nahi Tha has come to an end amidst thunderous applause and numerous recognitions, and Bollywood veteran Anupam Kher is elated with the response.

The fiftieth show of the much talked about play received <g data-gr-id="20">glorious</g> response from over 10,000 phenomenal <g data-gr-id="19">audience</g> over the weekend in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

“Very excited with the way the play has been received during this US Tour. I have always believed that all dreams come true. My US trip has reaffirmed that belief,” Kher, 60, told a <g data-gr-id="16">media</g> person.
With Sunday’s show in LA, the play, also starring Neena Gupta and directed by Rakesh Bedi, completed its magical journey of 50 shows that started on March 7 in India.? 

The performance also ended its US tour that began on stage on August 7 in Houston and went around 21 major US cities and Toronto and Vancouver in Canada, with its 23 back-to-back and sold-out performances.

Besides accolades for his performance in the play, Kher has been honoured with numerous proclamations in San Jose for his commendable work in performing arts and for being a champion for gender equality and defender of human rights, representing 500,000 Kashmiri Hindus uprooted from Kashmir 25 years back.
