UP govt decides to set up three electronics manufacturing clusters

In order to ensure manufacturing of electronic goods on a large scale in Gautam Buddh Nagar district, the IT and Electronics Department of Uttar Pradesh government has decided to set up three electronics manufacturing clusters in Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway areas. As per the announcement, one of the green field clusters will be set up on the 210 <g data-gr-id="20">acre</g> of land allotted by the Greater Noida Authority to the Uttar Pradesh Development Systems Corporation (UPDESCO).

As per the report, Taiwan Electrical and Electronics Manufacturing Association (<g data-gr-id="16">TEEMA</g>) came forward to join hands with the UP government by inking a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday. On the occasion, Minister of State for Energy, Yasar Shah, on behalf of the Chief Minister of UP exchanged signed MoUs with <g data-gr-id="17">Fransis</g> Tsai of <g data-gr-id="18">TEEMA</g>.

The minister said that the government is moving in the right direction to promote the state as a preferred investment destination for electronics manufacturing companies. He exhorted all <g data-gr-id="19">stake holders</g> involved to share the responsibilities in the investment so that the objectives of this alignment are fulfilled in the shortest possible time.

Alok Ranjan, UP Chief Secretary, emphasised that the Electronic Manufacturing Policy (EMP) 2014, will transform the state into a globally competitive and industry-friendly electronics system and design manufacturing destination. He also emphasised that electronic manufacturing companies investing above Rs 200 crore will be considered for further incentives on <g data-gr-id="23">case-to-case</g> basis.
