‘Uninterupted power and water supply during Ramzan’

Delhi power minister Haroon Yusuf on Monday informed that there would be uninterrupted power supply in the capital during the holy month of Ramzan. All street lights would be on through out the night and the government would not tolerate power cuts during Ramzan.
Strict instructions in this regard will be issued by the ministry of power to theDiscoms. A high level meeting was held regarding the arrangements for power and water supply and proper sanitation Ramzan. Senior officials of Delhi Jal Board (DJB), the three civic bodies, BSES and Tata Power were present at the meeting.
Ramzan is likely to start on 10 July. Yusuf said that all arrangements have been made to provide necessary and basic facilities such as drinking water, uninterrupted power supply and sanitation. Discoms have deputed additional staff and mobile transformers to tackle any adverse situation.
