Unidentified body of man found near Kalindi Kunj bridge

An unidentified body of a man was found floating on the Yamuna river near Kalindi Kunj bridge in south-east Delhi on Sunday evening.

When the police officials reached the spot, they were surrounded by a mob, creating a traffic jam on the Kalindi Kunj bridge. The area where the body was found is under the jurisdiction of Jaitpur police station in south-east Delhi.

'We received a call at approximately 4pm by a passer-by who had discovered the body. A team of cops was immediately sent to the spot,' said a police official. The deceased looks to be approximately 32 to 35-year-olds.
The body was taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) hospital, where doctors pronounced him brought dead. The body has been kept at the hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.

'The deceased was dressed in trousers and a shirt and the body was in a decomposed form. We did not find any injury marks on the body and we are totally clueless about what could have led to his death' said the police officer investigating the case.

A case under the appropriate sections of the Indian Penal code (IPC) has been registered in the Jaitpur police station. Officials have initiated a manhunt to ascertain the identity of the deceased and sent an information in this regard to all  nearby police stations.
