Under-trial youth accused of two murders escapes

Trouble broke out at Bhatar police station after a youth who was involved in two murder cases managed to flee breaking a grill of a window of the lock up in the police station.

The family members, relatives and neighbours of the two persons, who were killed allegedly by the accused, got engaged into an altercation with the policemen posted at Bhatar police station and they even tried to beat up the police raising allegation that some of them had helped the accused to flee. The accused Jiar Mullick was arrested a few weeks ago from Andal in connection with the murder of Jahangir Seikh and Rajesh Sheikh.

Mullick was brought to Bhatar police station after he was remanded in the custody of the police after being produced before the court.

On Tuesday morning the policemen found him missing from the lock up. Later they found that the grill of a window in the lock up was broken. It made clear that he had somehow managed to break the grill and fled. Senior police officers visited the lock up and asked the policemen to take necessary steps to arrest the accused as fast as possible.

The situation turned worse after the news that Mullick had fled from the police lock up spread in the area. Around 50 people from near the residence of Jahangir and Rajesh went to the spot. They enquired that how such a dreaded criminal had managed to flee.
