Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supporter and music composer Vishal Dadlani came under sharp criticism from several quarters, including CM Arvind Kejriwal, for his sarcastic tweet on Jain monk Tarun Sagar’s address to the Haryana Assembly, following which he announced quitting “all active political work/affiliation”.
Kejriwal disapproved of Dadlani’s remark saying that “Tarun Sagarji Maharaj is a very revered saint, not just for Jains but everyone and those showing disrespect is unfortunate and should stop,” while Public Works Minister Satyendar Jain sought “kshama” (apology) from him on behalf of his music composer “friend”. Dadlani, however, maintained that he was against the use of religion in governance.
