Unauthorised agent held for issuing e-tickets

As part of their drive to check the activity of unauthorised ticketing agencies and touts ahead of summer rush, Northern Railways have intensified its vigilance checks in Delhi.

A source of information was received that M/s Happy group consultants Pvt ltd, 205/A, Kapoor Wali Gali,  Munirka is involved in the selling and procuring of e-tickets on personal ID for a huge commission under the shelter of authorised e-tickets. To verify the veracity of the information, a preventive check was conducted with RPF/CIB at M/s Happy consultants, Munirka. During the check, nine e-tickets amounting to Rs 11,361 issued on personal ID were recovered, which were issued for different dates and locations. Vivek Singh, owner of the shop was arrested on the spot under Section 143 and a case was registered with RPF/Delhi Cantt.

Northern Railways reiterated the appeal to general public to refrain from the purchase of rail tickets from unauthorised agencies and touts. Unauthorised buying and selling of reserved tickets is an offence under Section 143 of the Railways Act. Passengers, buying tickets from unauthorised agents, may lose both their tickets and reserved accommodations if confiscated during raids.
