U’kand crisis: Have withdrawn from politics, says Ramdev
Countering charges levelled by the Congress over political turmoil in Uttarakhand, Yoga Guru Ramdev said he had withdrawn from politics and had the least interest in state politics.
In a defensive mood, Ramdev said he was mainly focussing on Yoga, Ayurveda and Swadeshi.
State Congress chief Kishore Upadhyay had targeted Ramdev and BJP president Amit Shah of plotting political crisis in Uttarakhand in a bid to make Uttarakhnd Congress-free. “He has maligned the image of Sant society in Haridwar for his misdeeds,” Upadhyay had said.
“It has become a fashion to target Patanjali without reason. When there was a need of political changes in national scenario, we supported for public welfare. Now, I have withdrawn from politics,” he said. He added, “I am in a non-political role. There is no hidden agenda in my motives. Whatever I do is open. There is no reason to clarifiy regular allegations. It would hamper our work.”
