In yet another case of harassment by an Uber cab driver, another case has come to light, wherein, a women working at the IGI Airport was forced to leave a Uber cab that she had booked. Furthermore, the cabbie threw her belongings on the road leaving her stranded after which she called the police. The accused driver, Rakesh has been arrested.

The incident took place on Tuesday night when the women booked a cab from Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport after her shift. Rakesh picked the women and started to travel towards her destination.

“She had booked the cab. She was supposed to take the Delhi Aero City route but he took another alternative route,” said a senior police official.

When the driver started to take an alternative route, it  made the woman suspicious. In her complaint, she alleged: “I was supposed to take the Delhi Aero City route but he took the Mahipalpur route despite my protest. He also would slow down the car and would abruptly stop.”

The women then threatened to call the police after which the man told her that he was driving that way as he had to pick up another customer. She started growing suspicious when he took an isolated route after which she called the police.

“He then stopped the car and dragged me out of the car. He also threw my bag and told me that this was my lucky day as nothing untoward will happen,” she alleged.

The police later came to the women’s rescue after which a case was registered at the local police station.
