Two youth die in separate road accidents in state

A road accident claimed the life of a college student at Ramnagar in East Midnapore Monday morning.

The accident occurred when 19-year-old, Jyotirmoy Senapati was crossing the road near his college.

A speeding motorbike took him down and fled the spot immediately. Senapati was taken to a nearby hospital, but declared broad dead.

In search of the accused biker, police started to interrogate eyewitnesses at the spot. “The biker was an employee of a restaurant which provides home delivery. He was in a hurry to deliver food to somebody’s residence. He was driving at a very high speed towards Ramnagar,” said an investigating officer.

Senapati was a first year student of Bachelor of Arts, and had rented an accommodation near his college. He was supposed to go his home in Pataspur, on Tuesday.  Local people blocked the road for an hour after the incident. They demanded the arrest of accused motor bike rider.
