Two TMC workers attacked by miscreants

Two Trinamool Congress workers from Mahishbathan area of Salt Lake were injured when some miscreants attacked them.

Police said that a quarrel had broken out between the victims and the accused over parking of 
vehicles in the area.

When they asked the accused not to park their vehicles in the area, they stabbed them with a sharp weapon.

Police said that on Thursday night, the two victims were returning home when they saw that a truck was illegally parked in the area for offloading bricks. When they asked them to remove the vehicle from the place, the miscreants pounced on them with a sharp weapon.

They were seriously injured in the incident. The victim’s family members lodged a compliant at the Electronic Complex police station on the basis of which police have started an investigation into the incident. 

In another <g data-gr-id="32">incident</g> the Bidhannagar police on Wednesday night arrested two persons from New Town for their alleged involvement in extortions. Police said that the accused have been involved in several extortion incidents in the area.Acting on a tip-off, the investigating officers arrested the two accused from their residence at Adarshapally area of New Town on Wednesday night.

It may be mentioned here that Bidhannagar police have started <g data-gr-id="37">a massive raids</g> to arrest the culprits who used to demand extortion money from various businessmen in the area.

They also used to extort money from the people willing to set up a house in Rajarhat and New Town area.
The Chief Minister had recently given a clear instruction that extortionists must be put behind bars.
