Two nabbed for minor girl’s gang-rape
A 15-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by five men at a hotel in Central Delhi’s Paharganj area. According to the police, two of the accused have been nabbed and search for the rest is underway.
According to the police, the incident took place on Thursday night when a known friend of the victim came to her house and asked the girl to come out for a talk. Once the girl stepped out of her house and started walking towards the road, a car stopped near the two and four men allegedly emerged out of it.
Before the victim could react, they allegedly pulled her inside the vehicle and drove her towards a hotel in Paharganj.
According to the victim’s family friend, the girl was gang-raped by all of them. However, police said only one person raped the girl while the rest abetted it.
Police said that only one person who is known to her has raped her, however, as of now we are treating it as a gang-rape till further information emerges.
Police said that they have registered a case of gang-rape under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at the Paharganj police station.
The girl lives with her mother and a younger brother in the Paharganj area only. Her father had died last year and since then her mother has been raising the family. Her mother knits clothes for a living, said a family friend.
