Two including woman held for elderly’s murder

Almost a week after the murder of a 65-year-old woman, Bimla, an NGO worker in North-east Delhi’s Mansarovar Park area, Delhi Police have arrested two persons including a woman. The accused has been identified as Surender (48), however, the name of the 30-year-old woman has not been disclosed.

During interrogation, the accused woman said that she used to visit Bimla regularly to sell new ornaments and costly clothes, which reportedly, Bimla used to further sell. When the accused tried to set up her independent network, she was told off by Bimla. That is when she hatched the conspiracy to eliminate the old woman. On September 4, at about 11.40 am Bimla Tiwali (65) was found dead and a plastic rope was tied around her neck.

During the course of an investigation, the local enquiry revealed that there was a complaint in the police station against the deceased, in which it was alleged that she was involved in providing space to couples for their privacy.  Some persons were detained based on that complaint but nothing on
record could make the information turn into a cognisable offence.

While in interrogating Surender, the name of a woman cropped up and it was noticed that her phone was switched off since the day of the incident. From further analysis and local enquiry, the team zeroed in on a location in Khora Colony, Ghaziabad. A raid was conducted and the woman was arrested from there. Surender has been involved in cases of theft and Arms Act in Sardhana, Meerut.
They further revealed that they had one more associate, who has been involved in the cases of murder and robbery in Uttar Pradesh.
