Two held in Dwarka robbery case

Delhi Police Crime Branch on Sunday arrested the two accused who allegedly committed <g data-gr-id="25">robbery</g> at a residence of a 52-year-old woman in Dwarka Sector 5 on August 3.

According to police, the accused have been identified as Lalit Kapoor and Sonu Ahlawat. “Four Gold bangles, two mobile phones and documents pertaining to the property worth crores related to the victim’s family have been seized,” a senior police official said. At 2 pm, Lalit entered the house with another accomplice Rahul. “The gang sent Lalit Kapoor who was known to the family with another accomplice. As he had worked with the family as a driver for two years she let her in,” senior officer said.

Another man then entered the house and overpowered her on gunpoint. The assailants ransacked her house and fled away taking four gold rings, gold bangles, two mobile phones and property documents. An FIR was registered at Dwarka South police station. Soon after the incident, crime branch constituted a team to crack the case. On the <g data-gr-id="30">tip off</g>, <g data-gr-id="36">team</g> conducted a raid and arrested the duo. Original documents of property worth several crore and gold bangles weighing 78 gm have been recovered from their possession.

During interrogation, it was revealed that Lalit was well <g data-gr-id="29">aware about</g> the property details and locations of plots owned by the family. He also used to help them in property deals and used to sit in their office at <g data-gr-id="28">Ranaji</g> Enclave and was very familiar with the family.

 Police have identified other gang members as Asim <g data-gr-id="26">Sehrawat</g> and Rahul Ahlawat who are still at large. “We have got information about them and we are conducting raids to arrest them,” officer said.
