Two held for murdering cop, woman in Rohini

A Delhi Police Assistant Sub Inspector and a woman were shot dead by a group of assailants in Rohini on Sunday. Police have arrested the main accused, Jeet Dahiya and Sandeep, in connection with the murder. The hunt is on for remaining accused.

According to the police, the incident was reported on Sunday morning at around 7.30 am.

“We received a call at 7.40 am that a man and a woman were shot dead inside a property dealer’s office in Sector 24, Rohini. We reached the spot and found two bodied lying in a pool of blood. The man was identified as Joginder, an ASI posted with first Bn DAP, while the woman was identified as Manisha,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), MN Tiwari.

During the investigation, the police managed to zero in on the prime accused, Jeet.

“We found that Jeet and Joginder were partners in the local satta business and would also organise dance activities in the area. However, they fell out when several monetary disputes arose between them and this led to an enmity between the accused,” Tiwari said.

The accused were arrested in the afternoon from Rohini area.

During interrogation, it was found that Jeet decided to eliminate Joginder and roped in some of his associates and on the intervening night of 10 and 11 December, they managed to track Joginder to Singh Properties in Sector 24, Rohini.

The group fired five rounds at him. The woman, Manisha, was inside the office at that time and witnessed the incident.

The group fired at her as well to eliminate the witness.

“We are looking for others who were involved in the crime,” Tiwari added.
