Two held for killing man, severing his head and burying it later

Delhi Police solved a blind murder case of a 25-year-old man who was killed in Gurgaon but his head was chopped off and buried in Delhi. According to the police, the arrested accused were identified as Mukesh and Vijay. Irked by the victim’s closeness to his wife, Mukesh decided to kill him. Based on the confession statement of the accused, police recovered the severed head of the victim and also recovered the Innova car used in the crime.

On August 25, one Ashok Kumar reported to the Mangolpuri police station that his son, Rohit has been missing since August 18 evening, said police. On September 6, Kumar shared with the investigators that his son, Rohit had married a woman in 2013 and in 2015 they had parted ways. After which, the woman married one Mukesh. 

Raising suspicions about Mukesh and his brother-in-law, Anand’s involvement (name changed) and guessing a juvenile’s role behind Rohit’s disappearance, police registered a case and started the investigation.

Investigators shared that Mukesh and Anand were called for questioning. After sustained interrogation, they broke down and admitted to killing Rohit along with one Vijay and Ashraf (name changed), a juvenile.

During interrogation, Mukesh, a driver with a cab company in Gurgaon revealed that after he got married to a woman in April 2016, she had started meeting her ex-husband, Rohit. He came to know about this through his landlord and neighbours and when he confronted her, she refused to discontinue contact with Rohit.

Enraged, Mukesh confided this thing to his brother-in-law, Anand. Anand roped in his friends Vijay and Ashraf and they hatched a plan to kill Rohit.

“On August 19, Mukesh along with the other accused called Rohit for drinks at his place in Mangolpuri. Inebriated, they all decided to go for a long drive in the Innova car of Mukesh’s employer. 

Midway, on the Dwarka-Gurgaon Expressway, they stopped the car to get some fresh air. When Rohit got down, Vijay went behind him and choked him. 

Once Rohit became unconscious, Mukesh and Vijay chopped off Rohit’s head while the two juveniles held Rohit’s body. Since Mukesh was carrying a thinner with him, they burnt Rohit’s body and took the victim’s severed head in a polythene and buried it at an empty plot in Sector-20, Dwarka,” said a senior cop.
