Two dead, two injured in separate road accidents

Two persons were killed including a police constable while two others were injured in two separate road accidents in Bankura.

On Sunday night, a police constable met with an accident while returning home at Saldiha on motorcycle from Chatna. Police suspect that the victim Nayan Deoghoria lost control over the motorcycle and rammed into a road side tree.

Some local people spotted the victim lying by the side of the road with serious injuries on his body. They took him to Bankura Sammilani Medical College and Hospital where the doctors pronounced him brought dead.

In another incident, a biker died after he was hit by truck while returning home at Patakola area while two other persons riding in the pillion received injuries in the accident. They have been undergoing treatment at the Bankura Sammilani Medical College and Hospital. According to the doctors, the condition of one of the patients is serious. 

Police said that the accident took place when the three youths were riding on the motorcycle at a high 
speed. When they reached near Patakola bridge the motor cycle was hit by a truck coming from the opposite direction. 

The victims flew off few meters away from the place of the incident. The driver of the truck fled from the spot along with the vehicle immediately after the accident. Police have started a probe 
and are conducting raid to nab the driver. 

In a different incident, a youth was shot at from close quarter by some criminals when he engaged with them in an altercation at a pub. The victim has been battling for his life in a local hospital. The incident occurred at Milanbag area in Nadia on late Sunday night.

Police suspect that an old business rivalry might have led to the incident. Police are conducting raids to nab the culprits.
