Two cases of fire in city, no casualties reported

Two cases of fire were reported from Central and Outer Delhi respectively on Wednesday. In the first incident, fire broke out on the 15th floor of the Gopal Das Building located on the Barakhamba Road in Central Delhi on Wednesday morning.

No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. In the second incident, a minor fire broke out near a DTC bus terminal in the Narela area of Outer Delhi on Wednesday. In this incident too, no casualties or injuries were reported.

In the first incident, the fire department official said that they received a call at around 6.55 am about a fire on the 15th floor. Ten fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was doused by 7.30 am.

Sources said that the fire started in the water dispenser but it was controlled within a span of 20 minutes. A senior police official, meanwhile, said that they are yet to establish what triggered the fire. However, in the preliminary investigation, it appears that the fire was caused by a short-circuit.

In the second incident, a minor fire broke out near a DTC bus terminal in Outer Delhi’s Narela area on Wednesday afternoon.

According to a senior fire department official, it was a minor fire that broke out after a few crackers placed by unknown person(s) exploded near the bus stop.

Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot. No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident, said the fire department official.
