In yet another incident of road-rage, a 22-year-old man was stabbed to death by three armed assailants in East Delhi’s Jyoti Nagar area on late Saturday evening. The accused are yet to be arrested.
The incident took place at around 9.30 pm when Salman, the victim, was standing at a shop in Jyoti Nagar area. He was accompanied by two of his friends. While they all were drinking soft drinks, three motorcycle-borne men came and accidentally hit Salman. He then advised them to drive properly.
“Listening to his advice, the motorcyclist stopped his bike and one of them took out a knife and attacked him. Both his friends fled the spot. All of them stabbed him and fled the spot,” a police officer privy to investigation said.
Salman was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. “A manhunt is on to nab the accused with the help of the registration number of the bike,” the officer added. Salman was a resident of South-east Delhi’s Okhla. During the investigation, it was learnt that after celebrating Eid with his family, Salman went to meet his friends and relatives in Jyoti Nagar where he was killed. He used to work with his father in a canteen in Jamia Millia Islamia University. A case under the sections of murder has been registered against unknown persons.
In another incident, a 22-year-old man was bludgeoned to death in East Delhi’s Seelampur area for opposing an eve-teasing incident in the park. The victim was the bread earner of the family and used to work in a furniture shop since his father died. “The accused are yet to be identified. Meanwhile, a case has been registered against unknown persons,” a police official said.
