Two bodies, believed to be of a truck driver and his helper, were found at Cooch Behar Tea Estate along NH-31 under Ghoksadanga police station in Cooch Behar, police said.
Local people discovered the bodies with their throat slit. They informed the police who found only one paper from the corpses.
Police said it is learnt from the paper that a truck registered in Rajasthan was coming from Assam via Boxirhat check-post of Cooch Behar carrying about 9 tonne of tea.
During investigation with a sniffer dog, the police recovered two blood-stained choppers and a cap. The two victims were aged around 35 years and 28 years. The bodies were sent for post-mortem.
