Two bludgeoned by locals for raping Class XI student

A Class XI student was kidnapped and sexually assaulted by two men in Outer Delhi’s Aman Vihar in the early hours of Sunday. However, she was rescued by the locals who thrashed the duo. It was only when the police intervened that the two were rescued. Both of them have been arrested.
According to the senior police official: “Medical examination confirms rape. The accused men are labourers and live two houses away from the victim’s home.”

The two accused persons have been identified as, Naushad (20), and Mohammad (25). According to the police, the duo took her to an isolated spot on the pretext of some work and raped her. The girl informed her family about her ordeal and they later approached the police.

A resident of Aman Vihar, she lives with her family and is a student at a local school. According to the family, she goes out for a morning walk <g data-gr-id="32">everyday</g>. “She left home for a walk at around 5 am. When she did not return home for long, our family began searching the locality for her. Soon, local residents joined us in the search,” said the victim’s brother. On the same evening, someone crossed a house near the victim’s house. Since it was locked, it raised suspicion and the locals broke into the house. The locals found her locked in another room where she was found to be gagged. 

A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) based on the victim’s complaint. The accused were taken to s nearby hospital after which they were sent to judicial custody.
