Two arrested for uploading sex video in Odisha

Two persons involved in uploading a sex video on the internet, leading to a girl committing suicide in Odisha’s Cuttack district, have been arrested, the police said on Sunday.

The 15-year-old girl, who belonged to Nemala village (70-80 km from here), committed suicide on Wednesday night after she came to know that a sex video featuring her with the prime accused had been uploaded on the internet. 

The police have arrested the prime accused and his associate for their involvement in circulating the video on the internet, Cuttack SP (rural) Gurdas Kundu said. 

He said four people were involved in the crime. “While we have arrested two and are trying to nab two others,” said Kundu. 

Acting on a tip off, the police arrested the prime accused from Bhadrak railway station while he was returning from New Delhi on Sunday. His associate was arrested from his village. The police said the prime accused, a minor, had shot the act surreptitiously on a mobile camera and sent the video to his associates to upload the clip on the internet. 

The girl’s father had filed an FIR, alleging that the boy had secretly clicked some photos of the girl while she was taking a bath in the house and blackmailed her into having a physical relationship with him.
