Two arrested for raping minor girl

Police arrested two youth from Chandrakona for allegedly raping a minor girl. The incident triggered tension in the village.

The accused have been identified as Raja Singh and Mintu Das. Police said that the victim was gang-raped by the miscreants on Wednesday night. The victim’s family members have told the police that three sisters were returning home from a temple along the Chandrakona road when the some drunk youth stopped them.

The accused abducted the youngest sister and took her to an abandoned place in the vicinity. Seeing the incident, the two elder sisters fled the spot in fear. They later rushed to their house and told the family members about the whole incident.

The family members of the victim, along with the local residents rushed to the spot and found the girl lying on the ground and bleeding profusely. They took the victim to the nearby health centre for treatment. The doctors in the hospital said that patient’s condition is serious. On the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim’s family members, the police started a case.

On the basis of the investigation, police conducted a raid in the nearby area and arrested two youth who committed the crime. Police are investigating if any other persons were involved in the crime. Police also said that accused have been following the victim for the last couple of days. They knew that the victim and her sisters often went to a nearby temple and returned home in the evening.

It was learnt that the accused have admitted their guilt in the investigation.
