Tunisia opposition leader shot

A leading opposition figure and critic of Tunisia’s ruling Islamists, Mohamed Brahmi, was shot dead by unknown gunmen outside his home near the capital on Thursday, state media announced. ‘Brahmi, general coordinator of Popular Movement and member of National Constituent Assembly, was shot outside his home in Ariana,’ Watanya state television reported. ‘He was riddled with 11 bullets in front of his wife and children,’ said a tearful Mohsen Nabti, a fellow member of the small leftist movement.
