Tulsiram Prajapati case: Ex police chief discharged

A CBI court here on Wednesday discharged Gujarat’s former police chief P C Pande in the fake encounter killing case of Tulsiram Prajapati, an aide of slain gangster Sohrabuddin Sheikh, for want of mandatory sanction from the state government for his prosecution. “For want of sanction, the charges against the accused P C Pande are dropped,” special CBI court judge M B Gosavi said.

The court had last month discharged BJP president Amit Shah in the Sohrabhddin Sheikh and Prajapati cases after holding there existed “no case” against him and that he had been implicated for “political reasons”.
