Trucks rams into bike, kills two and injures one

An over-speeding truck rammed into a motorbike killing two youth and injuring one severely in East Delhi’s Vivek Vihar area on Sunday night.

In the preliminary investigation, it was found that after committing the incident, the errant truck driver fled from the spot. A manhunt has been initiated to nab the accused. According to the police, the deceased persons have been identified as Jitender and Monu, while the pillion rider was Mohit.

A police official investigating the matter said: “The incident occurred at around 10 pm on Sunday when the trio <g data-gr-id="27">wereheading</g> towards Vivek Vihar area for dinner. However, when they reached near Ramprastha crossing, an over-speeding truck allegedly hit their motorbike from behind.”

During investigation, it was found that the deceased Jitender was driving the motorbike. “The collision was so strong that their bike was dragged for around 30 meters after being hit. The incident came to light after a passer-by made a call to the Police Control Room (PCR) and they were taken to GTB hospital where two of them were declared brought dead, while Mohit was admitted a critical condition,” the police official said.

He added that their bodies have been handed over to the family members after the post-mortem. 
A case under relevant sections has been registered at the Vivek Vihar police station and further investigation is on.
