Tripura Guv takes Metro ride

Governor of Tripura, Tathagata Roy visited the Kolkata Metro on Thursday. It was a trip down memory lane for Roy who took a ride on the Metro from Park Street to Kavi Subhash station and back accompanied by A K Kapoor, General Manager, Metro Railway and other senior officers of the Metro Railway. Roy who is a Civil Engineer had spent 19 years in Metro Railway in various capacities and was closely associated with the Metro Railway from its very nascent stage. 

He was the chief engineer when the service started. He conceptualised the Maidan Metro station and had made value additions to many of the works. 

Later, in his address, he narrated his experiences of working against all odds during the initial stages of commissioning of the Metro. He also recollected his memories of working with legendary Railway officers like Sridharan, the Metro Man of India.
