Trinamool Youth Congress workers take out protest rally

Hundreds of Trinamool Youth Congress supporters on Saturday took out a rally to protest against demonetisation of high value notes and arrest of party leaders to settle political score.

The rally was organised following the instruction of its president Abhishek Banerjee. Banerjee could not take part in political programmes as he has been advised rest by the doctors. Banerjee was injured following a road accident on October 18 last year.

Subrata Bakshi, state president of Trinamool Congress said that demonetisation of high value 
notes had affected the country’s economy very badly.

Thousands of people engaged in gem cutting and ornament manufacturing, construction industry have become jobless.

Small traders and businessmen have incurred heavy loss. He said all the renowned economists had said that the ill effect of demonetisation would be realised six months later. He said it was announced arbitrarily without consulting anyone. He maintained that the movement launched by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee would continue till Modi was removed.

The procession started at Jadavpur and ended at Hazra Park through Gariahat Road, Rashbehari Avenue and SP Mukherjee Road to reach the venue. The TYC members shouted “Remove Modi and Save the country” slogan.
