Top security officer loses phone at igi airport

The directorate of home guards/CD/SDRF, Jammu & Kashmir lost his mobile phone at Delhi airport while he was travelling from Delhi to Jammu on Sunday afternoon. According to the police, on Sunday while the official was travelling from Delhi to Jammu via an Indigo flight, he lost his mobile phone when he visited a showroom situated inside the domestic terminal and an unknown person picked up his phone from the counter of the showroom. The official informed the police immediately.

Meanwhile, the police are yet to trace the mobile phone and it is being investigated. “We have been examining the footages provided by the showroom and will trace the phone soon,” said a police official on condition of anonymity. A case under Section 379 IPC has been registered. Earlier, an Indian diplomat who is deployed in the Indian Embassy as second secretary in Tajikistan had filed a complaint at IGI Airport stating that his belongings were stolen from there.

According to the complainant, Major Ramendra Kumar Singh was travelling to Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan on July 18 with his wife Abha Rani and son Shaurya via Tajik Airline (Flight 7J118). Upon reaching Delhi, he reported at Tajik Airline’s counter, collected his boarding pass and handed over his luggage (two suitcases) to the air line staff.
