Tollywood actor injured in accident at Prince Anwar Shah Road

Rana Mitra, a Tollywood actor was injured in a road accident late Wednesday night.

The incident took place on the Prince Anwar Shah Road under Charu market police station.

The accident took place when Mitra was travelling along with his female colleague in a car.

The local people told the police that the woman was driving the car when it had met with an accident.

Eyewitnesses told the police that the car was at top speed when the driver lost control over the vehicle and rammed into the divider.

The car overturned on the road after hitting the divider. After seeing the incident, the local people rushed to the spot and took the two artists to the MR Bangur Hospital.

The injured passengers were, however, released after primary treatment. Police are yet to ascertain the cause of the accident.

The incident triggered tension in the area and the movement of the traffic along the road became slower. Police later recovered the car which was badly damaged in the accident.

The local people alleged that during the night some cars flout the traffic norms and accidents often take place in the area.

They also alleged that police failed to check the reckless driving at the dead of night.

After hearing about the accident, police rushed to the spot and started an investigation. They said that the car flouted the traffic signal and met with the accident.

Police are also investigating whether the woman, who was driving the vehicle, was intoxicated.
