TMCP leaders assaulted by CPI(M) backed goons

CPI(M) backed goons allegedly beat up two Trinamool Congress Chatra Parishad (TMCP) leaders when they were returning home after attending an election campaign at Aranghata in Nadia.

The victims Pranab Ghosh and Joydip Biswas were admitted in Burdwan Hospital with severe injuries. No arrests have been made in this connection.

Police said some miscreants’ gheraoed the duo when they were returning after attending the election campaign. They forced them to get off their motorbike and started beating them.

They continued manhandling the TMCP leaders till they fell on the ground. The miscreants fled, leaving them at a deserted place. Later, a passerby found them lying in a pool of blood, writhing in pain. He informed some Trinamool Congress supporters in the locality and they rushed to the spot. They took both of them to the hospital where they were admitted.

Complaint was lodged with Dhantala police station and Election Commission in this connection.

Trinamool Congress leaders from the area alleged that CPI(M) backed goons were behind the crime. The Left Front (LF) leaders in the area know that it is not possible for them to fight against Trinamool Congress politically.

Hundreds of youth have joined TMC as they are against the politics of violence in the state which was usual during the Left Front rule. Thus, CPI(M) leaders are engaging goons to attack the youth supporting Trinamool Congress.

It may be mentioned that the incident had taken place a day after the CPI(M) MP and politburo member Md Salim gave a call to take “revenge if voted back to power”.
