TMC MLA tries to break up scuffle, injured

Mullick was taken to Gabberia State General Hospital and received five stitches on his head. Police said that on Thursday, being a holiday on the occasion of Eid, some youth from two localities were playing music using loudspeakers which led to all the trouble. 

Following an altercation, a fight broke out between the youth of the two adjacent localities. They pelted stones at each other.Receiving information that tension had arisen at Gabberia, Mullick rushed 

to the spot and tried to bring the situation under control. There were a few people who accompanied Mullick to the spot.

Brickbats continued to fly even after the MLA reached the spot. After Mullick managed to pacify one of the groups, he was heading towards the other when the incident took place.

A stone suddenly hit him on the head and began to bleed profusely. The youth, who were engaged in fighting, fled from the area after the stone hit Mullick.

Local people took him to Gabberia State General Hospital. He received five stitches on the head and was released from the hospital after necessary treatment. Followers of Mullick rushed to the hospital when they came to know that he received injuries. Some senior leaders of Trinamool Congress went to the spot where the incident occurred and spoke to the MLA as well.

Policemen from the local police station rushed to the spot when they came to know about the incident and took necessary steps to ensure that the law and order situation did not deteriorate further. They maintained constant vigil in and around the area after the incident occurred.
