TMC has restored peace in Jangalmahal asserts Mamata

“During the Left Front government, there was no peace in the Jangalmahal areas. People were killed by the CPI(M)’s harmads. No developments had taken place during the 34 years of the Left Front rule in the state.

“The CPI(M) leaders now deliver lectures and make tall promises. If the CPI(M) is voted to power they will unleash a reign of terror once again. We have restored peace at the Jangalmahal areas. In Ayodhya hills peace and harmony prevails,” Banerjee said while addressing an election rally at Bagmundi in Purulia.

Calling the CPI(M) and Congress alliance unholy, Banerjee said: “CPI(M) and Congress who are like brothers have formed unholy alliance which will be rejected by the people after the forthcoming Assembly elections. People should not vote for the unholy alliance of the two parties.”

While addressing a huge gathering Banerjee had given a detailed account of the development works that had been done in the state and the projects that were taken up by the Trinamool Congress government.

She also announced that after her government will come to power for the second consecutive time she will start a Rs 1200 crore water project in Purulia so that all the people here can get purified drinking water.

She on Sunday took out a massive padayatra at Purulia where thousands of people gathered on both the sides of the road to have a glimpse of the Chief Minster.

As Banerjee was marching down the lanes and bylanes of Purulia, the residents from the houses and shops situated on both the sides waved their hands to the Chief Minister.

Banerjee on Sunday said that all Election Commission officials and the Central Forces who are visiting the state must be taken care of.

It may be mentioned in her previous election meetings Banerjee had been vocal against the Election Commission as they failed to check the violence in which six of the Trinamool Congress activists were killed by the goons. Banerjee had complained that six of her party activists were killed by the CPI(M) backed goons in various districts but the Commission had failed to arrest the culprits.

It was the responsibility of the Commission as the entire police administration was working under the direction of the Commission.
