TMC disciplinary committee to decide on Mukul son fate

TMC disciplinary committee to decide on Mukul son fate
Trinamool Congress will on Wednesday take a decision on the misconduct of Mukul Roy’s son and MLA Subhrangshu Roy, who has been charged with breaching party discipline.

TMC’s disciplinary committee, which include Partha Chatterjee, Subrata Mukherjee, Firhad Hakim and State Youth Affairs Minister and senior leader Aroop Biswas, met on Monday and discussed over the anti-party statements made by Subhrangshu.

“We have taken note of his comments. We will again sit on February 25 to decide the next course of action,” Biswas said.

Asked why his party was taking so long to decide on Subhrangshu, Biswas said, “We never backtrack on taking decisions. We are a party which is led by Mamata Banerjee. We have full support of the masses”.

Subhrangshu, under TMC’s critical lens, had said last Friday that if the party supremo felt he had acted against the party, he would resign.

Amid speculation of a rift between Subhrangshu’s father Mukul Roy, a one-time trusted aide of Mamata Banerjee, and the TMC supremo, Subhrangshu had defended his father’s role in the Trinamool Congress through public statements.
