Time ticks, floor test to seal Manjhi fate

They requested the Governor to set Manjhi  a 48-hour deadline  to prove his strength or it would lead to horse-trading. Kumar also said that if the Governor didn’t take a decision on Manjhi in the stipulated time, they would parade 130 MLAs in front of President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Kumar in the meeting with the Governor also conveyed that Manjhi’s recommendation of dissolution was untenable as in the cabinet system all decisions are taken by consensus and here in this case more than two third of the ministers had walked out of the meeting.

According to Raj Bhavan sources, the Governor has turned down the cabinet expansion proposal of Manjhi, who also met Tripathi with some colleagues. The decision of governor could be seen as a signal for assembly dissolution. “After having recommended dissolution of assembly, how could Manjhi ask for expansion of cabinet,” said a Raj Bhavan source.

On Monday, a delegation led by the JD (U) and its allies handed over a list of 130 MLAs to the Governor.
