Tickets selling like hot cakes for Ct hockey

The much-awaited Champions Trophy 2014, beginning on December 6, has witnessed an overwhelming response from the hockey fans in the city with the match tickets selling like hot cakes.
The sale of tickets, which kick-started online on October 20, has been on a rise with the fans excited to see world’s best teams competing for the title. Most of the matches are likely to be sold-out prior to the commencement of the tournament.
The price of session tickets starts at Rs 20, entitling the spectator to watch two matches. Speaking on the ongoing successful ticket sales, Elena Norman, CEO, Hockey India (HI) said, “We have received a tremendous response in terms of ticket sales and we are expecting most of the matches will be sold-out prior to the commencement of the tournament. The audience turn out is expected to be excellent.” Odisha has provided a number of talented hockey players to the country and has a huge fan base for the sport.
The Kalinga Stadium, where the matches will take place, has a seating capacity of 7,000 spectators. The tickets can also be booked online, with the official ticketing partner of the event TicketGenie (www.ticketgenie.in). HI is also offering complimentary tickets to the former hockey Olympians and International players.
