Three people injured in blast at Guptipara

Three people were injured in a blast that took place at Guptipara area in Hooghly on Thursday morning. 

A bomb inside a container was kept outside a building material shop in Balagarh. It went off when one Tapas Rajbangshi, who works at the shop, touched the container while opening the shop. 

Tapas Das and Nitai Das, residents of the area who were standing there also sustained burn injuries. They were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Condition of two patients is stated to be serious. Police have started an enquiry into the incident and conducting raids in the nearby areas to nab the culprits. 

In a separate incident police recovered some crude bombs from the Kurial village under Barua gram panchayat in Raigunj. The bombs were found inside a container. Police said that some fishermen who went to pond in the village found a container kept there. Local people then informed the matter to the nearby police stations. Police also with bomb squad personnel reached the spot and found around 12 live bombs inside the container. The bomb disposal squads defused the bombs. 

Police are interrogating the local people to investigate who had kept the container. The motive behind the incident is yet to be ascertained by the police.
