Three men loot Rs 4 lakh at gunpoint, escape

A35-year-old shopkeeper was robbed of Rs 4 lakh at gunpoint in central Delhi. The incident took place on Monday afternoon when the assailants entered the shop of a gold trader in Karol Bagh area.

According to the police, the victim has been identified as Manoj Kumar Shinde who is a resident of Regharpur. He runs a shop in Karol Bagh. On Monday, at about 2 pm when he was all alone in his shop, a group of three people entered his shop and showed him a country-made pistol and a knife.

Manoj told the police that the assailants were in their early 20s and were wearing helmets to hide their identity. ‘They asked me to raise my hands and snatched the locker keys. They have stolen all the cash and managed to escape,’ he said.

‘They all threatened my life before escaping. I had Rs 4 lakh in cash in the locker,’ he told the police.

During the time of robbery, one more person and a servant went outside the shop for having lunch.

‘A case of robbery has been lodged against the three unidentified men at Karol Bagh police station. A man-hunt is on to trace the assailants,’ the police said.
