Three killed, 36 injured in separate road accidents

Three persons including a woman were killed and 36 people were injured in three separate accidents in the state in the past 24 hours.

Police said a woman Koyel Saha was killed when a speeding truck hit the motorbike on which she was travelling at Hastings late Sunday night. The truck hit her after dashing against an Ola cab. The woman died at the spot and the cab was also badly damaged.

In another incident at Jamuria in Burdwan, a 20-year-old youth Sajal Bauri was killed and two were injured after their motorbike hit a road side concrete pillar. Sajal was riding the bike while two others – Pradip Murmu and Rakesh Bid – were riding pillion. In another road accident at Damda village in Purulia, a middleaged man was killed and 32 people including some women and children were injured when the van in which they were returning from a relative’s house fell into a ditch. The van lost control while trying to save a motorbike and fell into the ditch.
