Three injured in clash

Three persons were injured in a clash that broke out between two groups each headed by two real estate developers at Tikiapara in Howrah on Monday afternoon.

Police said Asraf Ali and Sk Kaisar are jointly developing a multi-storey building in the area. They had an altercation a few days ago on the share of profit that they will be deriving after selling out the flats.

On Monday they had a meeting to settle the dispute. But for various reasons they could not come to a conclusion. Instead a scuffle broke out between associates of both the developers.

The situation turned worse when their close aides got engaged into a clash bear their house at Tikiapara.

They damaged some shanties in the area and valuables in the houses of each other's rivals.

They hurled bombs at each other resulting in injuries to three persons. People were found running for a safe place.  Shopkeepers pulled shutters of their shops down and within minutes the area bore a deserted look.

A large contingent of police was pressed to maintain law and order in the area. Police pickets have posted. Raids are on to arrest the accused.

The injured persons underwent necessary treatment at Howrah Medical College.
