Three held for robbing of Rs 45L cash, jewellery from property dealer

Delhi Police arrested three persons for allegedly robbing a property dealer of Rs 45 lakh cash, gold jewellery and property documents at his residence in South Delhi’s Mehrauli area. 

According to the senior police officials of the South District, the accused identified as Bijender Singh, Sameer Chugh and Dinesh Kumar disclosed that it was one Ravi who hatched a plan to commit robbery at his competitor’s house.

Police said that on October 21, property dealer Pawan Sharma and his wife were allegedly gagged and robbed of Rs 45 lakh at gun point by two persons. Based on the CCTV footage and local intelligence, police managed to trace the accused Bijender Singh from Najafgarh and recovered robbed cash worth Rs 1,85,000.

“During interrogation, Bijender disclosed name of gang leader Ravi who conspired the robbery with the help of one Sameer Chugh, Kaku and Dinesh. Sameer Chugh is a property dealer who procured information for them about the huge amount kept at Sharma’s house,” said a senior police officer.

Police said that at the instance of Bijender, Chugh was also arrested from his house and cash worth Rs 50,000 was recovered from his possession. 

On November 2, Dinesh Kumar was also arrested from Noida (Phase-II) and looted money Rs 8,00,000, one looted gold chain and an Alto Car used in commissioning the crime was recovered.
