Three held for molesting two women in south Delhi

Even as Delhi is being turned upside down by the Vasant Vihar gangrape case that took place on 16 December, a group of three harassed two girls in south Delhi.

On Monday late evening, Delhi police have arrested three young men for allegedly harassing the two girls in a posh south Delhi locality.  According to the police, the incident took place on Monday when the duo in their early 20s, who have studied abroad, was waiting for auto-rickshaw outside DLF Mall at Saket. Finding the girls alone at night, three men in their late 20s approached them in their car and allegedly molested them.

‘The victims immediately raised an alarm, hearing which few police officers who were patrolling in that area reached the spot and nabbed all three of them. The cops have taken the car in their custody. Few alcohol bottles have been found inside the car,’ a police official said.

The accused were heavily drunk, added the official. The statement of the victims, say the police, has been recorded at Saket police station and all the three accused, who have been identified as Ishant, Raja Ram and Vinay, have been arrested.

On Tuesday morning, the accused were produced at Saket court where they have been granted bail. The three accused work as area managers in a private firm that manufactures surgical equipment.
