Three held for auto-lifting, 12 bikes recovered

The Delhi Police have arrested three persons for auto-lifting in Outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri area. A total of 12 stolen/robbed motorcycles have been recovered from their possession, police said.

The police said the arrested, who called themselves ‘mast gang’, have been identified as Rohit, Jitender and Kunal. According to senior officials of the Outer district police, Rohit and Kunal are aged 20-21 years. The two told the police that they took to stealing motorbikes to lead a lavish lifestyle.

On October 6, one Rahul lodged a case that two men had robbed him of his motorcycle at knife point. “It was learnt that the accused persons would pass by the AB Extension Road on the robbed motorcycle to sell it off. Based on the tip-off, a trap was laid and the three were caught. The motorcycle has also been recovered,” said the official.

Eleven motorcycles were recovered at their instance, added the official. They accused disclosed that they used to sell the stolen/ robbed motorcycles to earn easy money, police said.
