Three arrested in bizman Md Nur’s murder case

The police on Monday arrested three more persons for their alleged involvement in the murder of a businessman Mohammad Nur that took place at Mullick Bazar on last Saturday.

Another accused Shamim Akhtar alias Kelo, one of the business partners of the victim, had been arrested earlier. After interrogating him, the police came to know about the alleged involvement of the other accused. Nur’s family members had lodged a complaint with the police against Kelo and another partner Shafique. After conducting raids, the city police got an important breakthrough.

Those who were arrested by the police have been identified as Seikh Moinuddin alias Raja, Khurshid Alam alias Chintu and Mohammad Salauddin. Police has recovered fire arms, 3 round of cartridges, two choppers and other weapons from their possession.

Police had picked up Kelo from one of his hideout area a few hours after the incident and took him to police station for interrogation. He was arrested after the police found discrepancies in his statement.
In the interrogation, police came to know that Kelo had lent Rs 1 lakh to someone in the locality.
Later he started claiming that he had given Rs 3 lakh to the person and started putting pressure to return the same amount as early as possible.

The victim Nur had intervened in this matter and slapped Kelo in front of everyone for harassing a person unnecessarily by making a false claim and it led to a trouble. Police suspected that Kelo might have been involved in the murder to take revenge. Police also came to know that there had been a long standing dispute between them over their business.
