With the arrest of three persons, Delhi police on Monday claimed to have busted a cricket betting racket operating during the India-West Indies cricket match. According to police, Naresh Thakker (27), Ajay Satija (36) and Satish Kumar (34) were arrested from Sant Nagar, Burari after a tip off was received that a betting syndicate was operating in this area for the ongoing India-West Indies-Sri Lanka Tri-Series.

‘During the raid, three persons were found operating the entire betting procedure. They were feeding data in a laptop inside a room regarding the India vs West Indies one day cricket match on Sunday.

During scrutiny of the information stored in the laptop, it came to light that records of several punters were saved in it. This group had also betted in crores of rupees during IPL-2013, Champions Trophy and the ongoing Tri-series,’ said additional commissioner of police (crime branch) Ravindra Yadav.
