Thousands visit Bengal govt’s one-stop portal for biz info

The West Bengal government’s attempt to make entrepreneurs aware of its initiatives to support the start-up companies in the recently held Bengal Global Business Summit seems started yielding results. The reason being thousands of people have visited the government’s web-based one-stop portal, myenterprisewb.in, in the past few days.

The web-portal www.myenterprisewb.in, is a web platform that provides all basic information on statutory compliance and government incentives to Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). There is also a Single Application Gateway (SAG) to help entrepreneurs to apply for all compliance and incentives.

During the Bengal Global Business Summit, the state government has elaborately discussed about the initiatives that were taken for the start-ups. The future plans have also been placed before the delegates from the 25 nations and top businessmen from all over the country. Suggestions to improve the facilities in this regard have also been sought.

According to a senior state government official, before the summit more than 75,000 people had visited the web portal in the past one and a half year. Now the number has gone up to 83,394. It is expected that the more number of entrepreneurs will visit the portal after they came to know about the facilities for the start-ups in the state. Thus, the message, that it is just a click away for statutory clearances of application in West Bengal, has motivated several young entrepreneurs.

Information including facts related to government offices that will help them to know the locations where their units can be set up, incentives, acts and rules for MSMEs can be accessed in the portal.

The summit was attended by several entrepreneurs, who are known internally for their start-ups. The entrepreneurs have praised the state government’s steps in helping to set up the start-up businesses. Many have also expressed their eagerness in setting up units of their companies in the state as well.

It may be mentioned that in October 2015 the state Finance Minister Amit Mitra had announced that in West Benagl the start-up movement will be led by the Chairman of Manipal Global Education T V Mohandas Pai. He was also one of the speakers in the summit and he appreciated the state government’s initiative.
