This new Assembly is the youngest ever in the country!

With an average age of its newly elected members being around 40 years, the new Delhi Assembly is the youngest ever in the country. Out of the 70 members, 50 MLAs, all from the AAP, are below the age of 50 years and six below 30 years.

The credit of being the youngest member in the Assembly goes to two 26-year-old newly elected MLAs of AAP — Prakash Jarwal (26) from Deoli and Rituraj (26) from Kirari. The other four MLAs who are below 30 years are — Rakhi Birla (27) from Mangolpuri, Sarita Singh (28) from Rohtas Nagar, Praveen Kumar (30) from Jangpura and Akhilesh Pati Tripathi (30) from Model Town. 

Former Delhi BJP president Vijender Gupta (51) who won from Rohini is the youngest BJP MLA in the House followed by two 61 year old members — Jagdish Pradhan (61) from Mustafabad, Om Prakash Sharma from Vishwas Nagar (61).

The oldest candidate to reach the Delhi Assembly is Ram Niwas Goyal who is aged 67 years and has won from Shahdara with an AAP ticket, followed by Hazari Lal Chauhan (66) who is the second oldest MLA who won from Patel Nagar with an AAP ticket. There are 22 MLAs who are between the age groups of 31-40 and 41-50 years.
