Third Krishi Unnayan Mela from October 21 to 23

The CII in association with the state Agriculture department will organise the 3rd Krishi Unnayan Mela from October 21 to 23 at Mati Tirtha ground in Burdwan.

The objective of this three day initiative is to showcase the opportunities in agriculture and allied areas in the state and create market linkage for farm and farm products.

The mela will draw participation from government departments, FMCG companies, banking, insurance and financial institutions, agro machinery and equipment manufacturers, educational research and training institutes, horticulture and floriculture sector, animal husbandry sector, fisheries and irrigation sectors and manufacturers of fertilisers and seeds. It is a platform for them to showcase their product offerings, strengthening brand image, developing dealers and distribution network and interacting with government agencies and stakeholders spreading across the agricultural community.

During the three days, Krishak Pathshala would be organised to educate about 1,000 farmers in various topics. The mela is an ideal forum to facilitate knowledge and best practice sharing among the farmers on pre and post harvest technology, latest irrigation technology, farm mechanisation, pest management and better use of agricultural land beside others. The forum will help to create greater awareness among farmers about various schemes available with financial institutions and would provide opportunities of direct interaction between the manufacturers and users.
