Third Front just slogan to cover failures of regional parties: Kalraj

Ruling out any possibility of creation of a so-called ‘third front’ before the next Lok Sabha elections, BJP national vice- president Kalraj Mishra on Tuesday said ‘third front’ is just a slogan of the regional parties to cover up their failures and corruption.

‘There would be no ‘third front’ of such before or after the Lok Sabha elections. The regional parties are using this word to keep afloat their hopes to come to power after Lok sabha elections whereas they know that they do not have any chance to get the magical number,’ he said.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Mishra, who is also the MLA from Lucknow East assembly constituency, said that the recent statement of Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav terming  BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani as an ‘honest’ person was just move to divert the attention of the people.

‘Advani don’t need any certificate from Yadav about his honesty or his role against corruption,’ he said and added it would be better of Mulayam Singh asks UP Chief Minister to control corruption. In a meeting held recently Mulayam Singh had said that Advani had told him about corruption in UP. He even said that Advaniji never tells lies.

Mishra, commenting on the effort by the Congress to allure Janata Dal (United) by granting special status to Bihar state, said that  there is no question of a split in the NDA and all the partners are united and the NDA would contest the next eelction as united force.

Criticising the Akhilesh Yadav government in Uttar Pradesh for its failure to control crime and accelerate development, the BJP leader said that the situation was going out of control and now even the SP leadership have started criticising its own government.

‘The crime rate in the state particularly in the state capital has gone up and it seems that the government has no control over the police,’ he further alleged.

Hitting out at the SP leadership he said that why Yadav Sr had issued statements against UP government.
